The Sinner

After having seen the first season of The Sinner, which was quite a discovery, the second has left me wanting for more, with the feeling that it has been left half-heartedly, as if it lacked to go a step further, that it had something left in the way, as if the producers were in a hurry to finish it and did not give them time to finish it properly.

Perhaps the reason for this is a script that does not take off, with a plot that is very interesting, but as the series progresses, is diluted without untying all the knots that are raised throughout the chapters we propose.

This does not mean that this second season is bad, what I mean is that, from my point of view, this second season has dropped a level compared to the first, not only with the level of the actors but also with the story that tells us.

However, it must be said that the series lets itself be loved from the first chapter, captures your attention and invites you to continue seeing it, chapter after chapter, until you reach the end, an aspect that must be thanked to part of the script and the direction.

No doubt I invite you to see it, you will have a good time following the inquiries of inspector Harry Ambrose to unravel the case he is investigating.

SYNOPSIS

Inspector Harry Ambrose returns to his hometown of Keller to investigate the poisoning of a couple by his teenage son for no apparent reason. His return is due to a call from the daughter of a childhood friend who is a policeman and has taken charge of the case. The investigation becomes entangled as the police investigation progresses, uncovering unknown aspects in the town of Keller.

El mes pasado terminé de ver Bandersnatch en Netflix y la verdad es que me sorprendió mucho cuando el mando de la play (veo Netflix a través de una play III solo uno para eso) comenzó a vibrar y preguntándome si había entendido cómo funcionaba la película, yo le dije que sí, pero la verdad es que no tenía ni idea, aunque cuando tuve que elegir si desayunar Frosties o Sugar Puff, comprendí de qué iba la película.

De inmediato me vino a la cabeza la novela Rayuela de Julio Cortazarque tiene un esquema parecido, en el que puedes leer lo capítulos en el orden que creas y sus finales serán diferentes.

Netflix ha hecho con Bandersnatch una apuesta arriesgada, una propuesta que a muchos gustará y otros no tanto. Yo estoy en el término medio. Reconozco que la película me gustó, sobre todo su planteamiento interactivo y que , de alguna manera, formes parte de la película y que los finales dependan de tus decisiones, aunque el juego interactivo, a mí por lo menos, me llega a cansar. Tengo que reconocer que yo no soy mucho de juegos y, quizás, ahí hay que buscar la respuesta.

Por otro lado la serie de Black Mirror tiene su sello de identidad y que no es otro que las tecnologías futuras y sus consecuencias y Bandersnatch se aleja de este planteamiento, aunque si hilamos muy fino podríamos encontrar algún encaje en ese sello de identidad.

Así que Bandersnatch es una película que hay que ver, de eso no cabe duda y su encaje en la serie es otro cantar.

They also demand justice for those who suffered reprisals from the dictatorship, from the hand of the regime's torturers, and who are still at large in our streets.

Many repeat to the point of satiety that we have to turn the page, that past water does not move mills, but in this precise case, one cannot turn the page until all those victims are taken out of the mass graves to be buried with dignity because they were killed with premeditation and treachery and buried at night so that they would never be found.

The silence of others should be seen in the institutes so that the youngest know what happened in Spain with the defeated, those who gave their lives to defend democracy.

This documentary can help us understand the victims and put ourselves in the other's shoes to understand their grief, their helplessness, their anger and their shame.

December 6, 2018 is the fortieth anniversary of democracy, forty years in which we have made great progress as a society, but we have the subject of historical memory pending and we have not been able to erase, forever, every vestige of the bloody Franco dictatorship and we continue to perceive its stink in our streets, in our squares and in some of our politicians. I hope that this will be possible before the frogs grow hair, as María Martín, a victim of the dictatorship, said.

Nature Drops

The camera of my mobile has its limitations, but there are times when the gods of light join forces and I take photographs such as this flower, in which all the necessary elements are combined to demonstrate, for the millionth time, that nature is wonderful and gives us beauties such as this flower, a hibiscus that was in a garden in Budapest.

In my daily walk I look everywhere, not that I go in search and capture of a photograph, but I recognize that my look is active, waiting to find something worth being photographed.

This time we were walking in the direction of one of Budapest's metro stations, and soon we came across some gardens with a wide variety of flowers, including hibiscus, white and mauve. I took out the mobile phone and activated his camera because I knew I would find some flower that deserved to be photographed. It didn't take long to find it.

I stopped in front of her to contemplate her beauty, which increased with the raindrops that had fallen a few minutes before, a perfect combination. Drops of rainwater, the colors mauve, red, white, yellow and green.

Yes, nature gives us every day part of its incredible beauty, we just have to stop to observe it, have an active look to enjoy what it offers.

Perhaps the daily hustle and bustle pushes us to pass by the wonderful nature, however, we have to stop; our world will not collapse if we stop for a few minutes to enjoy what we have around us.

Tajinaste blanco

No estamos en primavera, ya lo sé, estamos en los comienzos del invierno, pero las Islas Canarias son muy agradecidas y desde que cae un poquito de lluvia y sale un pizco el sol (el sol siempre sale en estas tierras) el campo florece en todo su esplendor y las flores no esperan a la primavera para mostrarnos su hermosura.

Entonces los campos, los barrancos y cualquier lugar en el que haya un cachito de tierra, la vegetación no pierde la oportunidad y se llenan de verdor.

Cierto es que la temperatura ayuda porque en pleno invierno rara vez tenemos temperaturas bajo cero, si acaso en las cumbres se llega a los cero grados, pero en las islas la temperatura oscila entre los 15 y 24 grados.

Así que las plantas tienen primavera también en invierno y florecen cuando las condiciones se lo permiten, como es el caso de los tajinastes blancos, que, en muchos casos, están floreciendo, como este que me encontré junto con otros en el barranco de Tamaraceite.

El tajinaste (Echium decaisnei) es un arbusto endémico de las Islas Canarias, los hay de varios tipos y se puede encontrar en todas las islas y su máxima floración es en primavera, pero, como es el caso, puede florecer en invierno.

En este barranco hay muchísimos tajinastes blancos y todos estaban florecidos o comenzando a florecer; un espectáculo digo de ser fotografiado.

Loosening

Any time is a good time to relax. Stop the daily activity, stop and breathe.

This dove has it very clear, as the rest of the animals, that live the moment, without worrying neither for the past nor for the future, taking to the practice the so brought and taken "carpe diem", and that only worry about the present.

Many problems would be avoided if we were like that pigeon or at least tried because many of our setbacks arise from there, from our excessive concern for the past and, particularly, for the future, creating an unnecessary anxiety that takes us nowhere because the future will be what it has to be.

For that reason we have to be like this dove, look for a moment of the day to close our eyes, relax, worry only about breathing and see life pass by.

La Gran Canaria Big Band y Paquito D’Rivera

El mes pasado fui al teatro Cuyás a disfrutar de la música. En esta ocasión no fue teatro, sino música y es que no podía perderme los diez años de la Gran Canaria Big Band y a la leyenda del Jazz, Paquito D’Rivera.

Lo primero hablar de la Gran Canaria Big Band, que estuvo a un gran nivel, perfectamente conjuntados y con todos sus músicos dispuestos a ofrecernos un concierto inolvidable y lo consiguieron, de eso no cabe ninguna duda.

Desde los primeros compases se metieron en el bolsillo al público que abarrotaba al Cuyás, en el que no cabía ni un alma, tanto, que habían agotado todo el papel.

Todos sus componentes eran perfectamente conscientes de que esa noche era una noche importante y lo dieron todo, estando a la altura de un maestro como Paquito D'Rivera. En definitiva, un éxito de música y público.

Me gustaría destacar al pianista Pepe Rivero que nos deleitó con unas piezas memorables y puso sobre el escenario su destreza y su arte tocando el piano, haciendo gala de la maestría que lleva dentro.

Paquito D'Rivera

Lo de Paquito D’Rivera fue espectacular desde principio a fin, con una profesionalidad y, al mismo tiempo, con una sencillez que dice mucho de su personalidad como ser humano y como músico extraordinario.

Su virtuosismo con el clarinete y con el saxofón no tiene límites y nos hizo disfrutar de su arte poniéndolo en bandeja. Nosotros solo teníamos que cogerlo y disfrutarlo. Y no cabe duda de que lo hicimos.

Está claro que su larguísima carrera lo avala, los catorce GRAMMYS son prueba de ello, pero en el escenario, D’Rivera se mueve como pez en el agua y demuestra por qué es una leyenda en el gran firmamento del Jazz.

Sí, salí del Cuyás feliz, sabiendo que había asistido a un concierto memorable, de esos que sabes que te acordarás toda la vida, porque pocas veces uno tiene la oportunidad de disfrutar de la buena música y del arte musical de un virtuoso como Paquito D’Rivera y de la Gran Canaria Big Band.
